DLSS 5 Spreads to RTX 20-Series, Works on Emulators and Old DirectX Games
A leaked DLSS 5 DLL is being ported to RTX 20‑series (Turing) GPUs, with a FP16 implementation that enables DLSS 5 on some emulators and older DirectX titles; results are mixed—Red Dead Redemption runs while Red Dead Redemption 2 and Hogwarts Legacy struggle or crash, and GTA V can drop the display signal—showing the tech is far from stable. Modders have spread the backport to RTX 30/40-series as well as running on PCSX2, and NVIDIA has not confirmed official support for these older generations when DLSS 5 launches this fall, leaving it as a community-driven test ahead of any official rollout.
