Researchers have developed a method to measure ocular aging by studying proteins in eye fluid, creating an "eye-aging clock" using artificial intelligence. By analyzing nearly 6,000 proteins, they identified 26 that can predict aging and reveal new potential targets for therapies. The technique, called TEMPO, traces protein origins to understand disease-driving proteins at the cellular level. The findings can lead to personalized medical treatments and a better understanding of disease triggers. The researchers plan to apply this method to other bodily fluids to enhance drug development for various ailments.
