Impending IATSE Strike Threatens Broadway and Touring Shows

The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) has called for a strike authorization vote after unsuccessful negotiations with The Broadway League and Disney Theatrical. If approved, the strike could begin as early as Friday, halting most Broadway and national tour productions. The strike would affect workers on IATSE's Pink Contract, including stagehands, hair and make-up artists, and wardrobe staff. The union is seeking better wages, benefits, and rights for its members. This would be the third major entertainment union to go on strike in recent weeks, following SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America.
