Before deputies could contact the person, they heard a single gunshot from a room upstairs, where they found the man with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. No deputies fired their weapons during the incident, and no other injuries occurred.
A man died in a crash near Fremont, Nebraska, when the driver of a gray Hyundai SUV lost control and crashed into a wooden fence. The male passenger sustained serious injuries and later died at the hospital. The crash is under investigation, with alcohol and speed believed to be factors.
