Phantasm’s Reggie Bannister Dies at 80
Reggie Bannister, the horror icon famed for his role as Reggie in Don Coscarelli’s Phantasm franchise, died at his Crestline home at age 80 after battling Lewy body dementia and Parkinson’s disease; a Vietnam veteran exposed to Agent Orange, Bannister’s career stretched over four decades with the cult Phantasm films (five installments) and other credits like Silent Night, Deadly Night 4 and Bubba Ho-Tep, earning him the nickname “the hardest working man in horror.” He was also a prolific musician who released six albums.
