Hornets to Waive Nembhard After Finney-Smith Trade

The Charlotte Hornets are expected to waive guard Ryan Nembhard after acquiring him in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks. The move is necessary to reduce the roster to 15 players for the upcoming season, as Nembhard’s guaranteed salary is minimal compared to other roster options. While Nembhard is likely to be claimed by another team, such as the Denver Nuggets, the Hornets may also consider waiving Buddy Hield, though that would result in significant dead money.
