16-Year-Old Dowman Becomes Youngest Premier League Scorer as Arsenal See Off Everton
Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 to extend their title lead to 10 points. Viktor Gyökeres scored in the 89th minute after a cross from substitute Max Dowman, and then 16-year-old Dowman sprinted through to seal the win with a late finish, becoming the youngest scorer in Premier League history at 16 years and 73 days. Everton were hampered by injuries to their centre-backs and mounted late pressure, while Arsenal again benefited from late substitutions this season (11 goals from subs).
