Coroner Confirms Hayden Panettiere Died of Accidental Fentanyl Overdose
The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has officially ruled the death of actress Hayden Panettiere an accident caused by the toxic effects of fentanyl and multiple other substances. The report, released on September 22, 2026, lists 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine as contributing factors. An autopsy found no signs of trauma, and the case notes she had recently completed rehabilitation. While the coroner’s investigation is closed, police and the DEA are continuing separate inquiries into the circumstances.
