NYT Games Director Jonathan McKinsey Shot Dead by In-Laws Amid Custody Dispute
Jonathan McKinsey, 40, a director of engineering for New York Times Games, was fatally shot on Saturday in the parking lot of Dublin Sports Grounds in Dublin, California. Police arrested his 77-year-old in-laws, Shouyong Zhang and Shili Chen, on suspicion of murder. The killing occurred during an active divorce and child custody dispute between McKinsey and his wife, Candice Jang, with a hearing scheduled for the following month. Court records reveal competing allegations of domestic violence and child abuse between the couple, as well as claims by McKinsey that his in-laws directed anti-LGBTQ+ slurs at him and his children.
