Driver’s MacBook Traced to Trooper’s Home Sparks DUI Misconduct Review
An Illinois State Police trooper once praised as a top DUI enforcer is under internal review after a driver’s missing MacBook was traced to the trooper’s Tinley Park home. The driver, Sherard Holland, later was found not guilty at a bench trial and has filed a civil rights lawsuit alleging the laptop was kept by Trooper Bradley; investigators concluded Bradley violated policy by not reporting the incident and by holding the device, resulting in a one-day suspension. The case comes amid an I-Team look showing many of Bradley’s DUI prosecutions since 2023 were dismissed or ended with not guilty verdicts, while Bradley remains on medical leave from an unrelated work accident and ISP emphasizes proper oversight and the distinction between arrests and prosecutorial outcomes.
