At a White House ceremony unveiling a $22.5 billion plan to rebuild Washington Dulles International Airport, United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby framed the project as the culmination of decades‑long effort, saying he has “spent my whole career waiting” for a permanent midfield at Dulles. The plan adds new midfield concourses (including Concourse E), expanded AeroTrain access, upgraded baggage and security infrastructure, more United Club space, and could pave the way to retiring Concourse C and D, cementing Dulles as a major international hub.
