Rivian Launches Ghostbusters-Themed Halloween Mode and Ecto-R1 Builds
Rivian has released a major Halloween software update for its R1 and R2 vehicles, featuring a Ghostbusters collaboration with Sony Pictures. The update, available from October 9 to November 2, 2026, includes a dedicated in-vehicle app, themed light and sound effects, a scavenger hunt, and a mini-game. Rivian also unveiled six custom 'Ecto-R1' builds based on the R1S, displayed at select retail locations. The update leverages Rivian's vertically integrated hardware and software to create an immersive experience, with Bill Murray starring in a promotional spot.
