Rangers Lock in Tolvanen for Third Line, Squeezing Out Prospects
The New York Rangers signed free-agent forward Eeli Tolvanen to a one-year, $1.5 million contract on September 2, 2026. The 27-year-old winger, who had 36 points for Seattle last season, is expected to anchor the third line alongside Noah Laba and Will Cuylle. The move adds depth but limits opportunities for young prospects like Adam Sykora and Jaroslav Chmelar, who may be sent to the AHL.
