Detroit Pioneers America's First Wireless Charging Road for Electric Vehicles
Detroit has become the first city in the United States to open a wireless charging roadway, located on 14th Street near Michigan Central in Corktown. Developed by Electreon, the technology uses inductive-charging coils beneath the surface to charge electric vehicles while in motion or stationary. The company hopes to expand the wireless charging roadways for public use in the coming years.
