Braves DFA Elieser Hernández, Promote Bailey Falter to Add Depth
The Atlanta Braves designated right-hander Elieser Hernández for assignment for the third time in seven weeks, moving his roster spot to left-hander Bailey Falter, who has had his contract selected from Triple-A Gwinnett. Bryce Elder was placed on the 15-day injured list with arthroscopic knee surgery, and veteran Reynaldo López was activated. Hernández, who has been used in DFA shuttles akin to Carrasco and Chavez setups, could be outrighted off the 40-man roster at season’s end as Atlanta maintains a flexible bullpen strategy to cover injuries.
