Travolta Receives a Shock Palme d'Or at Cannes Debut
John Travolta was surprised with an honorary Palme d'Or at Cannes during the premiere of his directorial debut Propeller One-Way Night Coach, based on his 1997 children's novel. Thierry Frémaux presented the award before the screening, and Travolta, moved, said it's 'beyond the Oscar' while walking the red carpet with his daughter Ella Bleu. The festival has previously awarded honorary Palme d'Ors to guests such as Tom Cruise in 2022 and Peter Jackson at the opening ceremony; Barbara Streisand is slated to receive one later.
