Christina Ricci’s former husband James Heerdegen was denied emergency custody of their 11-year-old son Freddie after the boy texted alleging Ricci was drinking on a June flight to Canada; the court sealed the messages and Heerdegen’s emergency petition, with Freddie later telling his counsel he may have overreacted and wishing to remain in Ricci’s primary custody. Ricci, who divorced Heerdegen in 2020, is now married to Mark Hampton and also shares daughter Cleopatra.
