UK Regulator Clears UnitedHealth's $1.58 Billion Takeover of EMIS Group and NHS Healthcare Tech Merger

The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has provisionally cleared UnitedHealth Group's £1.24 billion ($1.58 billion) acquisition of healthcare technology firm EMIS. The CMA found no competition concerns in the deal between the two specialist healthcare tech and software companies, which provide services to the National Health Service (NHS). The regulator will now consult on its provisional findings before making a final decision by October 5.
