Canon’s EOS R8 Mark II Brings IBIS and 40fps to a Sub-$2K Full-Frame Package
Canon has announced the EOS R8 Mark II, a ground-up redesign that pairs a 24.2MP full-frame sensor with 5‑axis in-body image stabilization, Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with People Priority, and a high-speed electronic shutter up to 40 fps with pre-continuous shooting. It supports oversampled 4K/60p and 1080p up to 180p, adds new Filmtone profiles, and ships in late October 2026 at $1,899 for body (or $2,099 with the RF 24-50mm kit). Canon is also launching the EG‑E2 Extension Grip and an updated Speedlite EL‑5 Ver.2, plus a free Dual Pixel 3D Converter app.
