Coco 2: Miguel Takes the Lead in a 2029 Disney Sequel
Disney announced Coco 2 at D23, a sequel set a few years after the original that centers on a teenage Miguel. Benjamin Bratt will reprise Ernesto de la Cruz as the vengeful antagonist, and the film is slated for a November 2029 theatrical release. The project brings back key creatives, including director Lee Unkrich and co-director Adrian Molina, with Mark Nielsen producing, continuing Coco’s award-winning legacy and paving the way for further Coco expansions, including a Disneyland attraction.
