NATO intercepts Russian aircraft over Baltic Sea.
NATO fighter jets from Germany and the UK intercepted three Russian aircraft, including two SU-27 Flankers and an IL-20, over the Baltic Sea after they were detected flying without transponder signals in international airspace. The incident occurred as part of a NATO mission to protect the alliance’s territory in eastern Europe, with the UK and Germany operating Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets out of Amari Air Base in Estonia.
