Salmonella Outbreak Tied to Broccoli Sprouts Triggers Recall, FDA Says
The FDA and CDC are investigating a Salmonella Bovismorbificans outbreak likely linked to broccoli sprouts from Evergreen Fresh Sprouts, LLC. A recall affects sprouts distributed to grocery stores, restaurants, and food-service customers in Idaho, Montana, and Washington (with additional risk to Utah). So far, 22 illnesses have been reported across multiple states, including two hospitalizations; cases began between July and August 2026. Consumers who bought recalled broccoli sprouts should monitor for symptoms (diarrhea, fever, cramps), seek medical care if symptomatic, and sanitize surfaces and containers to prevent cross-contamination.
