"Homeland Security Issues Warning on Hackers Targeting Google Chrome and Excel"
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has warned federal agencies about new exploits targeting Google Chrome and Microsoft Excel, which could give hackers easy access to computers. The Excel vulnerability allows hackers to run malware remotely, while the Google Chrome exploit overloads the browser, affecting other open-source web browsers using WebRTC. To protect against such cyberthreats, it's advised to be cautious with open-source applications, regularly update software, avoid opening suspicious attachments or links, and use antivirus protection. If hacked, change passwords, monitor accounts, consider identity theft protection, contact financial institutions, alert contacts, and restore devices to factory settings.
