Russia has added the "LGBT movement" to its list of extremist and terrorist organizations, in line with a Supreme Court ruling last November. This move, part of President Vladimir Putin's shift towards what he portrays as family values, has raised fears of arrests and prosecutions among LGBT activists. The list, maintained by Rosfinmonitoring, includes over 14,000 designated extremists and terrorists, and the new listing refers to the "international LGBT social movement and its structural units."
