Marine jet crash near Rimrock Lake; pilot survives ejection and wildfire sparked
A U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18 Hornet crashed on the western edge of the Yakima Valley north of Rimrock Lake during a routine training flight. The pilot ejected and was rescued, then taken to a hospital. The crash started a wildfire in the area; firefighters and Forest Service crews were deployed to protect nearby structures.
