Billy Vigar’s Death Prompts FA to Ban Solid Perimeter Walls in Non-League Football
Billy Vigar, a 21-year-old former Arsenal academy player, died after hitting his head on a concrete perimeter wall during a non-League match. His parents, Keith and Camilla, are pursuing justice through an inquest, criticizing the Football Association’s delayed response to safety warnings. The FA has since banned solid brick and concrete barriers in lower-tier grounds, a change the family views as necessary but insufficient to honor Billy’s life.
