Trump Seeks Wider Review of Gag Order in Federal Election Case
Former President Donald Trump has requested all judges of a D.C. federal appeals court to review a gag order in his federal election interference case, arguing that it violates his free speech rights. Trump described the court's decision to uphold, but narrow, the restrictions on his speech as a "dangerous precedent." The gag order prohibits Trump, his legal team, and the prosecution from publicly targeting parties in the case, lawyers, court and legal staff, as well as reasonably foreseeable witnesses. Trump has also been fighting a gag order in a New York civil fraud case.
