Clark Struggles in Italy Test as USA Advances in World Cup
Caitlin Clark followed her historic World Cup opener with a rough performance against Italy, going 0-for-6 for 1 point (plus 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal) as the U.S. won 55-52. Through two games her updated box score shows a drop in scoring while Team USA again battled through inefficient shooting (28.6%) and more turnovers than assists, with A'ja Wilson out. The Americans have clinched a quarterfinal spot, close the group stage vs. Czechia, and coach Kara Lawson may rest some starters, potentially giving Clark more minutes in the knockout rounds.
