Limited Field Expected for Masters Tournament with Only 77 Eligible Players
The field for the 2024 Masters tournament is expected to be one of the smallest in years, with only 77 players expected to compete. Eleven players who finish in the top 50 in the world ranking will be added to the field, along with four players who won PGA Tour events in the fall. One additional player will qualify through the Latin America Amateur Championship, and there may be special invitations for international players. Augusta National prefers a field size under 100, and the last time it exceeded that number was in 1966. Notable players narrowly missing out on qualification include Chris Kirk and Matt Kuchar.
