Most Californians can still file their tax returns after the April 18 deadline due to a federal tax filing extension caused by severe winter storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides. The IRS offers free tax filing services for those who made $73,000 or less in 2022. However, taxpayers who don't live in eligible counties must file their taxes by April 18 to avoid processing and refund delays.
