Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is shot entirely in the rare 1570 70mm Imax format, with only about 41 cinemas worldwide able to project it. Fans travel from as far as Turkey, Singapore, Germany and LA to Melbourne’s Imax to experience Nolan’s preferred format, drawn by its higher resolution and immersive scope despite the cumbersome 17km, 240kg reel and the specialized projection setup.
