Mel Brooks Celebrates 100 Years with an LA Film Marathon of His Favorites
Mel Brooks, who just turned 100, has programmed a 20-film Los Angeles screening series called 100 Years at the Movies, featuring his personal favorites from City Lights to Jojo Rabbit. The event runs Sept. 3–Nov. 1, 2026 at the Aero, Egyptian and Los Feliz theaters. Notably, the lineup largely omits Brooks’s own films, including only The Twelve Chairs, and includes just two titles from the last 25 years: Jojo Rabbit and Dolemite Is My Name, offering a cross-section of classic American cinema and influential works that shaped the centenarian’s career.
