Two Missing After French Trawler Sinks in English Channel
Two crew remain missing after the French fishing trawler Maranello sank in the English Channel off Plymouth. Three of the five crew were rescued and taken to hospital, with those patients reportedly traveling back to France; a search involving coastguard aircraft, RNLI lifeboats, and multiple ports’ crews was suspended after a second day for further information. The Stradale had earlier recovered three crew members, and one rescued was evacuated by helicopter to Truro while the other two were taken to Plymouth for medical care.
