Marcus Spears Jr., a 6-9 five-star forward from Dynamic Prep (TX) and son of Marcus Spears, commits to Texas and reclassifies to the 2026 class to join the Longhorns this season. He is ranked No. 4 in the 2027 Rivals rankings and will be reevaluated in 2026 after the move. Spears becomes Texas's sixth high school commit in 2026, joining Austin Goosby, Bo Ogden, Joe Sterling, Coleman Elkins, and Mantas Laurencikas, while Sean Miller is also bringing a top portal class to Austin (Mikey Lewis, Elyjah Freeman, Amari Evans, David Punch, Isaiah Johnson).
