Steelers lock in Washington with five-year extension
The Steelers signed tight end Darnell Washington to a new five-year contract, keeping the 2023 third-round pick in Pittsburgh. In three seasons he’s appeared in 50 games with 29 starts, totaling 57 receptions for 625 yards and two touchdowns, including a breakout 2025 with 31 receptions for 364 yards in 16 games (13 starts) before finishing the year on the Reserve/Injured List; he’s been a key blocker in the offense’s tush push and earned attention for powerful runs.
