Americans are increasingly interested in repairing and fixing their belongings instead of throwing them away, as the environmental cost of manufacturing and landfill waste becomes more apparent. However, "Right to Repair" legislation, which would require manufacturers to provide consumers and independent repair companies access to parts, tools, and service information, faces opposition from tech sector trade associations.
