NBA fines LaMelo Ball for dangerous trip that sidelined Bam Adebayo in play-in

The NBA fined Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball $35,000 and ruled he should have been ejected for making unnecessary and reckless contact that tripped Bam Adebayo, which left the Heat center out of the game during the Hornets’ 127-126 overtime win in the play-in. Adebayo later said he was OK with no MRI required and negative X‑rays. Ball also was fined $25,000 for profanity in a postgame interview. If called in real time, the foul would have ejected Ball; the ruling comes after video review, and Ball remains eligible for the next game.
