Florida Public Universities Mostly Slide in 2027 U.S. News Rankings, Save for FAMU
The 2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings show a mixed picture for Florida public universities. While Florida A&M University surged 13 spots to No. 79 among public institutions, nearly every other state university declined. The University of Florida slipped to No. 8, and Florida State University dropped to No. 24, though both remain in the top tier. Methodology changes, including the removal of student debt metrics, influenced these shifts.
