Jacob Tremblay, who voices Flounder in Disney's upcoming live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, has addressed the criticism of the character's design. Many mocked the flat appearance of Flounder in the first look poster, but Tremblay defended the design, saying he had faith in director Rob Marshall and that it worked well in the film. The Little Mermaid, starring Halle Bailey as Ariel, will be released in cinemas on May 26.
