Ronaldo Sets Hard Condition for Portugal Return: No Jesus, No Play
Cristiano Ronaldo has set a strict condition for his return to the Portugal national team: he will not play as long as Jorge Jesus remains head coach. This stance, reported by CNN, follows a public fallout where Ronaldo walked out of the squad after being benched for matches against Norway and Denmark. While Jesus maintains the decision was tactical, Ronaldo views it as a breach of trust. Portugal has since won four consecutive matches without him, with Gonçalo Ramos stepping up as the primary scorer. The Portuguese Football Federation is reportedly planning a farewell event for Ronaldo, suggesting the split may be permanent despite Jesus’s open invitation for the striker to return if he chooses.
