Framber Valdez looked sharp in his Detroit Tigers spring debut, tossing three scoreless innings with three strikeouts in a 5-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves. He admitted some first-game jitters but felt great, throwing 30 of 43 pitches for strikes and using his curveball early to rack up swings-and-misses as he ramps toward the regular season. Valdez will head to the Dominican Republic for two exhibition games with the national team, continuing his mid-camp duties as a Tigers ambassador.
