Zelenskyy counters Le Pen’s aid pledge by highlighting France’s military gains
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to French far-right candidate Marine Le Pen’s pledge to cut financial aid by arguing that Europe benefits significantly from Ukraine’s battlefield experience. While Le Pen claims France cannot afford support, Zelenskyy emphasized that joint testing of weapons like the SAMP/T air defense system improves French military capabilities. The debate highlights a sharp divide in the 2027 French presidential race, with Le Pen leading polls but facing strong opposition from mainstream parties who view aid as essential for European security.
