Apple and Samsung Sweep Q1 2026, Xiaomi Breaks the Top 10
Counterpoint Research shows Apple and Samsung dominated the global smartphone market in Q1 2026, claiming nine of the top 10 best-sellers. The iPhone 17 led with about 6% of global sales, followed by the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro, while Samsung held the 4th and 5th spots with the Galaxy A07 G4 and Galaxy A17 5G. Xiaomi’s Redmi A5 was the sole non-Apple/Samsung device in the top 10. The iPhone 17 series, launched Sept 2025, benefited from hardware upgrades despite supply-chain constraints; Counterpoint notes continued demand for premium models and expects high-end devices to gain share as the market declines.
