Disney+ has halted development of a live-action Gargoyles series; Variety confirms the project, announced in 2023 with Gary Dauberman writing and James Wan’s Atomic Monster producing, is no longer moving forward and there are no current plans for a Gargoyles live-action adaptation.
Gargoyles Remastered, a re-release of the 16-bit Disney game, offers updated art and music but hasn't aged well. The sidescrolling action platformer follows the story of Goliath, the leader of a clan of gargoyles battling evil Vikings. The game is short and unfairly difficult, but a rewind feature makes it more bearable. The remastered version lacks the original's atmosphere, and the lack of additional content is disappointing. While fans of the show may enjoy it, others may find it worth picking up on sale but not essential.
