HBO's 'War' Divides Critics: A Stylish Legal Drama or a Boring Procedural?
HBO's new legal anthology 'War' premiered on October 1, 2026, featuring a high-profile divorce between tech mogul Morgan Henderson (Dominic West) and actress Carla Duval (Sienna Miller). Created by George Kay, the eight-episode series contrasts two rival London law firms, Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne, as they navigate mediation, arbitration, and trial. While the show is praised for its sleek production design and ensemble cast, critics are sharply divided on its narrative substance, with some finding it a satisfying prestige drama and others dismissing it as a dull, predictable procedural.
