Ghetts Gets 12-Year Prison Term for Fatal London Hit-and-Run
British rapper and actor Ghetts (Justin Clarke-Samuel) was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the fatal hit-and-run death of 20-year-old Nepalese student Yubin Tamang in London. He pleaded guilty to causing death by reckless driving after drinking, with a blood-alcohol level about 1.5 times the legal limit, and was driving about 60 mph in a 30 mph zone before fleeing the scene; a damaged mirror helped identify his car, and he received a 17-year driving ban. Tamang’s family expressed heartbreak in a statement read on his behalf by Ghetts’s lawyer.
