Meet the Women Running Antarctica's Penguin Post Office
An all-woman team runs the world's most remote post office on Antarctica's Goudier Island, which is also home to over a thousand Gentoo penguins. The team spends five months in a single bedroom with no running water or internet, and one day off every two weeks. They also count penguins and gather scientific data on their breeding patterns. Despite the lack of creature comforts, the team is awed by the pristine environment and the responsibility to look after it. Antarctica tourism is strictly managed, and the industry is expected to have a bumper year.
