Relative halts teen's plan to attack Joliet elementary school, Will County officials say
A relative stopped a juvenile’s alleged plan to shoot Grand Prairie Elementary in Joliet by pinning him down and calling 911; deputies recovered a Glock, loaded magazines, a backpack with knives, an accelerant, gloves and other items. The student, a Plainfield High School freshman with a history of poor attendance, was detained and transported to a hospital after making suicidal and homicidal statements; there is no active threat and no charges have been filed as investigators continue.
