Lebanon, NH, issues public alert after three unprovoked attacks by unidentified wild animal
Lebanon, New Hampshire, police are warning the public about an unidentified, unusually aggressive wild animal that has attacked three people in the Centerra Parkway area since August 30. Authorities believe the animal is likely a gray fox or a fisher cat, though it has not been captured or identified with certainty. The first incident occurred on Sunday, followed by two more encounters within 24 hours. Surveillance footage shows the animal jumping on a person’s leg in a parking lot. Police and wildlife officials are urging residents to remain cautious, especially near wooded areas, and to seek medical attention if bitten or scratched due to potential rabies exposure. The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department is coordinating with local police, but the animal has not been located despite drone searches.
