Chick-fil-A's Original Restaurant Closes After 56 Years
The first Chick-fil-A restaurant, located in Greenbriar Mall in southwest Atlanta, closed its doors on Saturday after 54 years of operation. The restaurant, which opened in 1967, was the first of what would become a chicken sandwich empire with over 3,000 locations across the United States and beyond. Nostalgic fans and former and current neighborhood residents gathered at the food court to order chicken sandwiches and reminisce about their childhood memories. The mall, which was one of the first indoor shopping centers in the region, continues to hold an important place in southwest Atlanta.
